Replace the seat with the stem
A compression stem closes against a seat in the valve body. If the seat is worn, a new stem will still drip. Replace the seats (970-5000) when you replace the stems. A seat wrench makes it easy.
Too deep in the wall?
After a remodel with thicker tile, the stems may not reach the new trim. Pfister’s extension kits lengthen the stems so the handles sit right. Match the kit to the number of handles.
