These butcher block countertops are made in the USA by John Boos & Co. Red Oak is a pale, reddish brown, coarse-grained wood. It tends to be darker than Maple and lighter than Walnut. Edge-grain butcher blocks are constructed using wood strips that run the full length of the block, providing a clean look of continuity. These particular counter tops are 1-3/4 inches thick, 48 inches wide, 145 inches long, and finished with natural oil, making them safe for cut upon.
