These butcher block countertops are made in the USA by John Boos & Co. Red Oak is a pale, reddish brown, coarse-grained wood. It tends to be darker than Maple and lighter than Walnut. Edge-grain butcher blocks are constructed using wood strips that run the full length of the block, providing a clean and pleasing look. These particular counter tops are 1-1/2 inches thick, 36 inches wide, and available in a variety of lengths from 48 inches to 145 inches.
